She won the pre­lim­i­nary round, the June 23^rd pri­mary, de­ci­sively: a nearly 18 per­cent vic­tory mar­gin over her clos­est of five com­peti­tors, Ny­ack’s Beth David­son, tak­ing all four coun­ties that make up New York’s Sev­en­teenth Con­gres­sional Dis­trict. Now Os­sin­ing’s Cait Con­ley is in the knock­out round—a one-on-one bat­tle with in­cum­bent Re­pub­li­can Con­gress­man Mike Lawler that is cer­tain to be bru­tal and ex­pen­sive. Con­ley knows that she is fight­ing not just for De­moc­rats in CD-17 but against Don­ald Trump in what is gen­er­ally ac­knowl­edged to be one of the most con­se­quen­tial con­gres­sional races in the coun­try.
